Time to Begin Again...
Well, that was the fastest summer of my life. Am I the only one? This summer has been filled with a lot of quiet time, family bonding, rest, and a new baby, and even though the nights felt long, the days were short and our precious daughter Lucia Therese is already 6 weeks! I will share her birth story with you soon! Thank you for your patience as I took a break to bond with our newest little one, rest, and heal. This postpartum time has been so amazing. My mother was in town for several weeks before AND after baby Lucia was born, and my husband got 6 weeks of paternity, so he was able to bond with our Lucia, as well as take care of me and the boys. I loved having him home.
Fall always feels like a fresh start. I see so many parents posting adorable pictures of their kids going back to school, or to school for the first time, or homeschooling parents posting about their first day back to their schooling routine, and I am filled with an excited anticipation of beginning again. I am excited to be writing again, and building some semblance of a routine with 3 kids. In my postpartum time I have been so inspired by my own experiences, as well as the experiences of mother’s around me and I am so happy I get to share these insights with all of you. I am grateful to be counted among so many wonderful women, and hope that you too are surrounded by a village of women, all uniquely different, that can help you at different points in your motherhood!
I also love this time of year because we celebrate so many things in our family! Emilio’s birthday is today, my birthday is September 22nd, all 3 of my sister-in-laws celebrate birthdays this month, and then my husband and I will celebrate our 5th Anniversary on October 4th…then the HOLIDAYS! This time of year is BY FAR my favorite. I will admit that I am one of those people who LOVE all things pumpkin, cinnamon, and sweet. I will change out my summer candles for fall ones, and all my hand soaps will smell more like a bakery than a fruit patch. Granted, living in Arizona the weather will still stay well into the 100s for another 2 months or so, but I will take consolation in knowing that beautiful weather is coming.
Thank you for being patient with Courtney and I. We love A Mom Revolution but also need to carve out time to be with our families with undivided attention. We are happy to be back this week with new blogs, and to be able to connect with you and learn from you, and hopefully encourage you in your journey through motherhood!
You remain in my prayers as you start your fall! If you have some intentions, comment below and I will offer up a rosary for you soon! What are some ways you prep for fall? What are some fun things that you have coming up that you want to share with us?
